For example, the French led Corot spacecraft has outlived its estimated lifespan and continues to study planets in our galaxy. NASA's current project that will look for alien planets and is known as TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite). It is expected to launch in 2017. By the early 2020s, E-ELT (European Extremely Large Telescope) will be implemented so astronomers can look for planets. In the future, NASA is going to send a telescope called the ATLAST (Advanced Technology Large Aperture Space Telescope) that is 2000 more light sensitive than NASA's Hubble.
