-How Astronauts could hibernate on their voyage to Mars.

A manned trip to Mars would require astronauts to stay in a small condensed space for six to nine months. Astronauts would need a food, sleeping areas, and exercise equipment (to counter bone loss, etc). One day that has been proposed is putting astronauts into a "deep sleep" and making them hibernate while flying to the red planet. Lowering an astronauts body temperature would make them unconscious, so they wouldn't take any type of medicine to make them sleep for a long period of time. The people working with this idea propose that this hibernating technology could be used by the mid 2030s, around the same time when NASA intends to send its first manned mission to Mars.

-Minds that meld? Scientist uses his brain to control a person's finger.
Scientists have said that they have hooked up one person's brain to the internet so it could control a finger of another person. Earlier this month the man running the experiment, Rao sat in his lab with all the equipment on ready for this experiment to happen. On the other side of campus, Stocco had the same equipment on and was connected to the internet. Using this technology, Rao thought about moving his finer and Stocco's hand began to move. The next step in this process is to get it to the point of when two brains can have actual conversations with each other.
