The Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) for short, passed a key review that determines its cost and schedule requirements. The satellite is designed to protect potentially Earth-threatening space weather that could cripple Earth's electrical grids, hobble satellites, and space flight. Originally called Triana, this satellite was first approved in 1998 before being tangled in political battles due to cost. It is finally set to be launched into space in the year 2015.

Currently, there are apps out on the smart phone market that can actually take care of some medical needs. There are some apps that give you possible sicknesses a person may have. There is now a company called EyeNetra, which will soon can give a person the ability to tell a person what type of glasses they may need. There are also other start up companies that are taking up the same idea by using the smartphone for health matters. Another company called Scanadu, are developing ways to measure a person heart rate, temperature, and blood oxygen levels. A company called Quanttus, are developing ways to measure a person's heart rate and blood pressure. In the future, phones and even your household will hold the tools to help diagnose a problem or advise a person. These are the beginnings stages of this, as start up companies are leading the way toward smart technology medicine.
