Physicist Harold White, along with a team of experts that work with NASA have been working on an experiment that could slightly warp photons and change their trajectory. The team is trying to see if one day humans will be able to have the ability to warp travel through massive distances in our Universe. Maybe in the future will be able to travel to the Moon in a mere of moments, or Mars in a matter of minutes, or to the nearest star in a matter of hours. The work on the heat shield for NASA's Orion spacecraft is making progress. This is NASA's next generation spacecraft that could eventually send American astronauts to Mars. This space craft, along with it's finalized heat shield are set for a test launch in September 2014. The same type of material  for this heat shield was used in the Apollo missions, were it had no trouble. Taking off from Cape Canaveral Air force base, it will make two loops around our planet before crashing to Earth. If all goes as planned, the Orion spacecraft will take an unmanned flight in 2017 and land on NASA's new Space Launch System.
