The Evolutionary Xenon Thruster (NEXT) project completed a continuous test for more than 5 and half years - longer than any other space propulsion system that has ever tested. This type of technology could lead to even deeper missions into space. These thrusters have 10 to 15 times efficiency than the today's chemical thrusters.
