This articles highlights some of the most common crimes that happen and how new technologies are limiting what a criminal can now commit. Armed robberies will be a thing of the past. According to Winn Schwartau, a security expert, within the next decade American society will go to a cashless society. Everything will become digital. Carjacking will be nearly impossible. Ford and Google are working on new technologies they could tell if a car has been stolen by the erratic driving behavior of the person behind the wheel. Also, the ability for law enforcement to take over the carjacked car is also a possibility. Airline hijacking won't be possible because the plane could automatically land safely no matter who is controlling the aircraft.
Sony almost added an indicator to it's next generation console, the Play Station 4, coming in fall 2013,  that measured a person's stress based off how much sweat the controller picked up. They decided to drop the idea, but in the near future these type of innovative features (like measuring stress) could be popping up even in the video game industry.

In the near future, doctors might be able to pick up cancer cells that are flowing through the blood with a new finger sized plastic chip. This could show doctors what type of medicine is best suited for fighting the particular type of cancer and can be used to see if any progress is being made with the treatment.
